BEACHES
Without intending to, I gradually realised that many of the photographs I kept returning to shared the same atmosphere. It was not the place that connected them, but what was taking shape. By the water, the rhythm seems to change. Not because something extraordinary happens, but because even the simplest gestures seem to unfold at a different pace. The photographs in BEACHES do not seek extraordinary events. They linger on moments of waiting, pauses, encounters and quiet distances. Some images reveal themselves immediately; others ask for a slower gaze. Water runs throughout the project. Sometimes it is at the centre of the frame; at other times it remains just beyond it. Even when it is not visible, its presence quietly endures, becoming the thread that connects photographs made across different places and moments. Not Every Wave Finds the Shore.
