Signs
I’ve spent most of my life making art about where I come from, where I am, and where I plan on going. But the signs brought a new perspective to the way I create things about experiences I've already had. These are more than just signs I've seen around my college town but a way for me to understand how this small city became the place I know and love. Ogden, Utah is more than just a collage town in northern Utah. It's a beautiful small city, it's an outdoor enthusiast's playground, it's where the golden spike was laid. This place has some much history in its roots, with railroads, mob organizations and underground tunnels. All the shady beautiful parts of history that we thought never made it west. The signs that stand is empty lots or on boarded up brick buildings, they tell the stories that no one else can. Photographing these parts of Ogden helped me better understand where I am and how it will shape the future artist that I will become
