So Mitsuya
Unseen Universe
Taking close-up images of items lying around my room―including clothes, bedsheets, paper bags, pots & pans, cutting boards, paperback books, vinyl records, hand mirrors and so forth―sparked the creation of a peculiar kind of universe after the removal of visual relativity and identity in each object. With the guidance of the camera monitor screen, my mind delved deep into the universes interspersed within my room. During this, I was consistently exploring contrasting visual themes: concreteness and abstraction; panoramic and close-up images; and the ordinary and extraordinary. Titled as the "Unseen Universe," the resulting images could widen its scope of existence with the help of different hands in various media, branching out to different locations each with varying sizes and textures, resulting in an inadvertent altering of the images' appearance and meaning in the process. Though first created as an attempt to fabricate space with a playful mind, the final images might be on track to present the birth process of a universe.
