These photographs are my heart, they are of women I have met in New York City on the Lower East Side who have been left behind by the world. They are Intimate and raw portraits of where these women were at the time I met them. All the women had been victims of physical, emotional or sexual abuse at an early age. Consequently many are plagued by drug addiction and severe emotional problems, often leading them to sell their bodies and souls in order to survive. Within these extremes of human experience though, is born an indestructible beauty, a human spirit full of passion and pain.
