Stilled Life
This series was taken during the Covid pandemic which resulted in the various social/cultural restrictions of lockdown. During this time, as life slowed for many, pockets of reflective time became part of the daily norm. For myself walking in the countryside with my camera became a necessary and restorative activity. I used a slow shutter speed and intentional camera movement to make images that ‘felt’ like being ’there’ in the landscape. The ‘captured’ movement had an ethereal quality that seemed to reflect the deceleration of our lived lives.
