New Earth

“New Earth” is a project in progress exploring the vastness of land, without the need to document reality. Rather I choose to capture the fantasy of my mind, creating exotic sceneries balanced between the real and the unreal. My pictures explore lights, textures and moments creating direction, impulse and motion.

My name is Pinelopi Gerasimou, 28 years old. Based in Athens, Greece. I’ve been experimenting with photography for about 8 years, and it’s only now that I believe my work has reached the point of effectively expressing the spaces and emotions that nourished it along the way.

My desire is to deliver my viewers my experience through pictures. My most inspired moments are those in which I am engulfed by silence, and at these times my eyes have enough space to “breathe”, to see. Inspiration may come subtly, while standing in nature gazing at an ancient statue, maybe appropriately so, as I look to carve out an image with my lens.
