Strandhill - Off Season
Strandhill in Sligo is renowned for surfing, however, it is too dangerous for swimming. Located on Ireland\'s Wild Atlantic Way makes Strandhill a tourist magnet. Summer is far too busy for my liking as I thrive on solitude. During winter Strandhill turns inwards, its mood alluring. The place is mine...well nearly, except for surfers, locals and their dogs. The cold Atlantic is no surfing obstacle and the empty beach, a dogs paradise. Expectant gazes greet you from behind car windows as dog owners are either off surfing or gone to the café. That is my Strandhill, off season with the hardy ones. Just a warm coat, camera and coffee.
