It's a newly started project that was stopped at the very first stage by the epidemic, so I can only show you the pictures i've taken so far. The work will continue. Hungarian virtus is an elusive all-in-one smell in the country. That's the smell I'm trying to put in pictures, this nation's consciousness. We're a small country, but with every opportunity that exists, we want to compensate for that. An age document of hungary reafliving historical moments.Barely veiled dictatorship, deep gulf between social levels, laughing in tears, Hungarian attitude, consumption.

Since Lujza-Hevesi Szabó was born in Hungary, the ambivalent feeling of being Eastern European, was present since day one. Furthermore she was raised outside the capital, which amplified the disconnect from Western culture. This is why, to this day, she visits Békéscsaba, her home city, located 230 km-s away from Budapest, to explore both her love-hate relationship whit isolation, and the nostalgia whit a passé value system. She mainly focuses on classical style documentary photography mixed whit the intimacy of family style snapshots. She also works as a photojournalist, in the capital.
