African refugee Jerreh in Italy
Jerreh was born in The Gambia. His father died when he was young, so he became responsible for the family and money. He worked in The Gambia as secutity quard for the Sheraton Hotel. 6 days a week, 12 hours and got paid 50 dollars a month. He saw the welfare from the tourists, so he decided to try to reach Europe for a better life. The biggest problem is for refugees to survive Libya. Jerreh got arrested and be prisoned with 250 men in a very small room for 5 months After that he was sold as slave. He could escape and survived a trip on a small rubber boat with 150 people to Italy. Now he stays in Italy, between Roma and Napels as refugee. First without papers, but he just received a resident document for 6 months. He is not in a camp, so he lives at the street or with a nice family who take care of him in Cassino. I followed him for some days with this serie as result.
