On My Way To Nowhere
Trains. Trains to nowhere. Trains always seem to come from nowhere, and disappear into the distance. They seem to go on forever, because I never seem to see where they end. The little silhouettes harshly backlit in the windows of the trains going by always seem supernaturally still, silent and asleep, going on into the deep night, on a one way trip to nowhere. Maybe on certain nights, if one gets on at just the right moment into an empty carriage, the trains take us somewhere better, somewhere where we belong, somewhere far away, but not too far. All photographs by me from Tokyo, layered into double exposures.
