Body Distorted

The human body is fascinating and unpredictable, fragile yet durable. It may be contradicting but the creation brings us wonders that God made us, indeed, His masterpiece. This group of black and white fine art self-portraits is an exploration of an elegant abstraction of the human anatomy. Entangled our reality and perception of looking at bodies that bring our senses into a different dimension interpreting hands, and limbs into another form of art, like a sculpture.

I am Gerard Santiago a conceptual photographer and creative consultant currently based in Cologne, Germany from San Francisco, CA. I enjoy photographing portraits, editorials, and commercial projects that convey concepts or stories. I am also happy consulting and rendering unique ideas for my clients’ creative needs with a wide-range of experiences in graphic design, multimedia, photography, and videography platforms.

In addition, I am engaged as a social media consultant and exhibitor in Alte Molkerei Studio for Passagen 2016 and 2017 (Design Week) in Cologne, Germany; and also an Editor-in-Chief of The Lookbook Magazine on its 3rd Issue.

I received my Masters in Fine Art in Photography at the Academy of Art University. I worked with Warner Bros. Entertainment, Sony Pictures, Marriott Hotel, and small businesses in the US and Europe. I exhibited my fine art works entitled Discovering Shasta, Right Here Waiting, and Distorted Body in San Francisco, CA. Lines and Forms and Inner Conversation series in Cologne, Germany in 2016 and 2017. An upcoming solo exhibition of the completed series "Body Distorted" will be showcased in San Francisco, CA in March 2018.
