Elvis has left the building
This long-term documentary project begins in Memphis, United States, in the streets where Elvis’s presence still seems to linger. It soon extends beyond, across other states and places marked by cultural, historical, and social resonances. Each image appears as an interrupted melody, a fragment of an unfinished score. “Elvis has left the building” was the announcement made at the end of Elvis Presley’s concerts, signaling that the performance was over. Here, the phrase becomes a broader metaphor—a reminder of absence, of time passing, and of the need to reinvent ourselves once the idol has left the stage. Through images that are at times humorous or poetic, this work explores moments when the familiar slips into the strange, when the ordinary is disrupted by coincidence, dissonance, or memory. Each photograph functions as an open scene, inviting viewers to project their own narratives. The streets and spaces depicted reveal traces of American myths and opulence, traversed by bodies and gestures searching for meaning in a world in constant redefinition. This series reflects on absence as a potential—an empty space that invites invention rather than nostalgia.
