Portraits of Cuba
The images are from my last trip to Cuba in September 2016. On the 21st of March 2016, the Airforce One landed at Jose Marti Airport in La Havana, for the first time in 80 years. With that, US President Barack Obama set foot on the Caribbean island. His intentions were clear to encourage the process of thawing between the two countries, making it clear that he wanted to end the embargo before the end of his mandate in 2017. At that moment, I decided that I had to know Cuba before a possible change, before thousands of North American tourists would decide to visit the hitherto vetoed and unknown island. The pictures represent a personal vision of Cuba: what I saw, what I was told and what I learned.
