Hardly short-sighted, I’m obsessed about vision since my childhood. Always thinking that I can’t trust my eyes to understand the world around me. But once, someone put a camera into my hands, and I discovered through the lens much more that I could actually see. Hardly short-sighted, I understood that it was my intuition that was actually pushing the button. The camera gave me the extravision I was asking for, by giving me the opportunity to see the world with my heart. That’s why I mainly shoot live scenes, people and streets. Because to understand these scenes, heart matters more than my eyes.

I am also an urban planner, creating new district areas. You can analyse studies, numbers, data, but to define a place, this extravision given by the camera is the most powerful tool. And the skills of an urban planner, to understand a place, to observe how people move into it and in it, to notice what is special in there, is also a powerful tool in my photographic practice.

My pictures are often an analysis of a scene through a combination of heart and feelings. I don’t want to show more than the perfect reflection of my sensations relative to the place or the people I am with. Now it has become important to me that they are also the perfect reflection of my blurry vision: I have come to understand, that all the blur around me was maybe the most beautiful way to see my feelings and finally, to understand the world.
