Street Life : Tokyo.
Vibrant, innovative, modern, traditional, crowded, overwhelming. These are some of the words that can be used to describe one of the most populated metropolitan areas in the world. The Greater Tokyo Area with a population of over 37 million residents can give tourists and visitors a healthy dose of sensory overload. From popular districts like Shibuya, Shinjuku, Harajuku, and Akihabara, quiet, and peaceful reflection can be found in the lesser known side streets to contrast the madness of places like the famous Shibuya Scramble Crossing. The images in this black and white series represent the contrasts of street life, from the hustle and bustle of Tokyo’s busy street crossings, to the peaceful night time tranquility of its smaller, labyrinth-like side streets.
