On the women's side
For the last 13 years, I've been documenting social issues around the world, mainly for NGO's. It started with access to education in Kashmir and the sorrow after a deadly earthquake. I was working as well for child protection agencies, documenting situations where children's rights were denied. I had to work than in various situations, documenting medical issues (leprosy, TB,...), agriculture, homeless kids, religious minorities, ...
In all these situations, I could see that women were always on the front line. They were always the first to suffer from inequity, lack of income, injustices, rights denial.
They were also the first to find solutions, to sacrifice themselves for the next generation, for others.
My series is dedicated to these women. I am standing at their side.
